Amazon fees postage etc

Do you get a reduction on post sale fees for postage?

In the world of ebay my rule of thumb is always send 'free postage'. Amazon seems somewhat different and many sellers include postage separately.

Do people find it easier to sell products with postage fees on amazon and does it increase profit margins with the charges?

Thanks in advance, just trying to see the best way forward.
