Tax identification

So I did everything in the guide. I got my PO box, got my DBA, got an EIN. Even went down to the library to do the setup to skip all of the steps related to changing my internet/laptop settings.

I get to the spot where they want my EIN - I enter it - and now they want the name associated with the EIN. So i entered my DBA and they say it doesn't match the name that I gave the IRS.

Where do you go from here? Did I make some sort of mistake here? I thought using an EIN was supposed to allow you to bypass the SSN field by being able to give your DBA as your name. What happened with that? How do i fix/go around this?

Going to the library on a public IP address to register an account is not proper stealth routine. You need dedicated fresh IPs ideally.

The name you provide for your EIN must match the name you provided the IRS.

Once you get your EIN from the IRS, generally its best to wait 30 days before adding it on Amazon.

Agree with Elmo - using a public IP address like that is not the right way to go about things and can end up damaging your accounts.

The public IP is temporary until I can get a new computer all together.

In the mean time, if they're asking me to provide the same name that I provided to the IRS, doesn't that mean they'll just wind up linking me to my old suspended account anyway? Does that mean there isn't a legitimate way to go about doing this?

If it was eBay/Paypal I would say, yeah go ahead. But with Amazon, you need to start on the right foot with them, or they'll give you the banhammer straight away.

Welcome to the forums - there a lot of posts about EIN by yankee and jeffweico and few others - might be worth a forum search
