Tax interview issue
 

I'm posting this again because I didn't receive help before, and the forums are unclear about this issue.

During the tax interview, they ask for my EIN, business name, and full name associated with the EIN. They actually check to see if my name is the one that matches the IRS records because when I tried a false name, Amazon says it wont match.


When I signed up for my EIN, I chose Sole proprietorship. Is it different when registering on Amazon with an LLC? Anyone else have this issue and got around it legitimately?

Probably needs to be a corporation.

It's really really REALLY stupid to register anything as a sole proprietorship anyhow. What if you get sued? Even if the lawsuit is bogus the threat of losing personal assets puts you at a disadvantage when defending.
