Re-using busted bank account for withdrawing fund out of suspended Amazon
 

To keep it simple,

I have an Amazon account B, which used to regularly disburse money to Bank X, until B was suspended earlier this year. I waited 90 days before held-up money was deposited into X. All worked as expected up to this point.

Now I have another Amazon account C. It made $500 in transactions, but it got suspended before I had a chance to link a bank account. Now almost 90 days have passed, and I would soon be able to withdraw these $500.

My question is:
1. Can I add bank X to Amazon Account C for this withdrawal?:fight:
2. If not, then I have to add a "brand new" bank account for this ONE-TIME withdrawal. It would look like a huge waste (of scarce resources) to me. Any advice regarding alternative/cheap ways for completing this withdrawal?:coffee:

Hi, yes you can add an old burned bank account no probs!

NO NO NO - using an old bank account can give HUGE problems - don't spread this bad idea please.

@OP, using an old bank account has been known to cause deletion of the account and loss of money

Thanks this is tremendously helpful! But a one-time use for a few hundred bucks seems to be quite wasteful. Any suggestion?

With $500 after waited for 3 months? I'm willing to burn another bank account and getting pay. Much better than loosing that $h!t after waiting 3 months and pissed :)

bank accounts are a dime a dozen in the USA. No need to be taking chances.

Spread out your sales, and reconsider your business plan if you get suspended that often.

I mean, I wouldn't even bother trying to collect if it was only $500. If I got suspended that fast I would just say forget about it.

If you actually want the money then use a new bank account or get your current account number changed. If the bank asks you why you want your account number changed say you lost your checkbook so it's for security reasons, and they will oblige. Generally they will just close your current account, open a new one of the same type and just transfer your balance.

You must not realize how easy it is to open accounts. I could open 20+ new accounts online in the time it would take to change an account number at a branch.

I used to feel this way at one time.
This mentality is really childish and reckless an usually all based on arrogance. Glad I grew past that real quick.

At what point will a bank start raising questions? At the moment, I am working with 7 banks, and with each bank I have 6-7 accounts (counting close accounts). My feelings is that once I pass 10 accounts (counting closed accounts) with a bank, a bank will seek an explanation because it is too extraordinary.

What's your guys' actual experience? Anyone holding 20+ accounts with a bank without an issue?

I would never have 6 accounts at one bank. You have 7000+ banks in the USA to choose from. Why choose the same few banks?

Ok. I've been using Chase, Citi, BoA, Wells Fargo, Key, Barclay, PNC, First Niagara, M&T, Santander, Citizens, and TD. Any other banks to recommend (around Chicago)? :en:

You could also open a payoneer account and withdraw to that. Then again if you have ample bank accounts at your disposable then no big deal perhaps
