Start selling do's & Donts.
 

Is it a bad idea to start out selling popular products like fitbits for a lot cheaper than Amazon. Im selling them used though and I dont see any other sellers selling them used. Amazon sells them new I am selling them used. Is this ok.

Pretty sure fitbit is one of those brands you have to pay $1000 to get authorization to sell.

If you're a newbie I would stay far far away from items like that.

I personally won't touch brands like that with a 10 foot pole. Why deal with the BS and the headaches when I can sell stuff that's easier to get and I don't have to worry about it being restricted overnight.

These branded items are a total pain in the neck. Give it a go sure, but dont expect to have a smoooth ride.

Yeah, try that one and I GUARANTEE you will be suspended within a week.

It's really funny you ask that, because beats headphones are literally the worst thing a new seller can try to sell on Amazon.

Also being a new seller undercutting Amazon (especially by a lot) on pretty much anything popular is going to get you negative attention. Amazon knows what the wholesale prices are, and they're definitely getting a better deal than you are, so if you're selling at a loss it gets you red flagged pretty fast.

I would just tell him to skip the reading and just avoid risky branded goods period.

If he's here asking these questions he does not have a billion dollar company that those brands are willing to sell to. RA/Liquidations for those brands are a huge minefield, not to mention those items attract scammer buyers as well.

Big brand names:
- Pain in the ass to source from the manufacturer, since they won't talk to a small timer
- Huge policy violation/suspension minefield
- Scam buyers

Just stay far far away.

try them on ebay first. amazon is bit tricky.

To be honest with regards to the used products of this nature. I would email Amazon to find out the details of selling them.

Half the people on these boards are trying to hawk Phake stuff. So they disregard all the rules trying to make a quick buck.

If you have legitimate supply of such products and enough inventory to make it worth while contact them. If you have a few dozen just trying to offload then eBay is your place. Make sure you take lots of detailed pictures proving that they are legit items.

Let's put it this way. If he's willing to pay $1000 up front for the privilege of selling these products then I would advise him to do the research and go through the process of getting approved.

If that amount isn't worth it to him, don't look any further and forget about it.
