Disbursement Credit Card Verification Now Also Applies to US Amazon?
 

I know UK Amazon always verifies the credit card on file right before each disbursement.

Apparently US Amazon also begins to do this recently. I recently received disbursement failure notice starting with this: "Your disbursement of 506.92 USD has been delayed because the credit or debit card registered to your account is no longer valid. ............

My old accounts have been working fine with invalid VCC (i.e. one-time VCC for registration), and only newer accounts met this issue. So is this something new? Or did I do something wrong that triggered some extra security measure (in other words, is it possible that I can do something to bypass this disbursement verification?)

I know Amazon's had several different versions of their seller system. They are forcing everything to upgrade to the new one soon. My guess is that the new system does the CC check before disbursement, whereas the old system did not. We'll all find out soon enough once the upgrade goes through.

Not just Amazon UK, all Amazon marketplaces as far as I am aware

As I remember they required valid cc for each disbursement about 8-12 months ago, Amz US.
