OMG.. ungating is SUCH a crapshoot

Ungating health/beauty is such a crapshoot.

I literally have submitted the exact same invoices/information like 4 or 5 times. A few times they deny without reason, a few times they deny saying something isn't right, and then they finally approve it.

So basically the way you get approved in these categories is to keep trying until you get a seller support rep who hits approve.

Just luck of the draw. Some of the people on amazon's ungating workforce are a special type of person........

Yeah.. it's ridiculous really.

Submit the same documents 5 times until it gets approved.. wtf

Honestly, I wish they would just charge a $1000 fee and ungate anyone who pays the fee. That would keep the riff raff out and not hassle the real sellers. I would easily pay $2K to ungate health/beauty on a new account if it meant not having to deal w/ these idiots.

Just need proper invoices and they will most of the time be successful :spy:

I had proper invoices. I just had to submit them 5 times to get someone who accepted them.

I did 1 health and 2 beauty ungatings today (so now I have 3 accounts that can do both health & beauty) and none of them were accepted the first attempt. Submitting identical documents repeatedly got them accepted. That's a joke.

I mean, I obviously had to change the names on the invoices, but all my invoices are real. I have tons of actual invoices from suppliers for all the products I purchased for sale. It's not like amazon has access to the suppliers' accounting systems to verify that the names match the invoice #s.

For my primary account, I got ungated with my company's FDA registration (which costs $5K / year btw, not a cheap way to get ungated, but the company actually needs it for other things). For health, I submitted it and got approved immediately. For beauty, I submitted it about 8 times over the course of 2 months and then it got accepted.

Hm, Amazon is always changing things. I remember getting ungated in Beauty using Target receipts not long ago lol...

Yeah, they won't accept receipts anymore. That was pretty long ago when they did accept them actually. Over a year I think.

Yup, probably right, about 1 year or more. Damn I don't feel like dealing with this again, have at least 3-4 accounts that have to ungate soon. Wish I could pay someone to do it for me ;)

Well there are services out there that do it, but I doubt how effective they are (and if they're using the same documents for numerous people that might get unwanted attention).

I finally figured out how to reliably ungate new accounts (it still may take multiple attempts to get a SS rep that doesn't just deny everybody), but there's no way I'd do it for other people unless I was getting paid an unreasonably high amount, lol.

An account that isn't ungated is worth nothing to me, an account that's ungated in health/beauty can be used to generate a million a year in sales. Big difference.

I miss the good old days of Target receipt automatic approvals.

Just get proper commercial invoices, most of them will be accepted as long as they're the right type of invoices.

There's more to it than that. I will share this tip

If the supplier sells direct to consumers on their website, your invoices will be rejected. I submitted an invoice from my wholesale account with one such company (an account that was VERY hard to get btw), showing quantities of 1000s of units, and it was immediately rejected as "an online store."

Common sense does NOT prevail with ungating.
