Permanent EDD + 7 Day Rolling Reserve Now?
 

I set up 6 new accounts after June 30 2016 on Amazon US and noticed they each had a 7 day rolling reserve after the first disbursement. I figured no big deal and eventually it would go away.

A couple of months later, none of the reserves have gone away. We have been selling fine, no problems, and even have quite a bit of feedback. I decided to open a case to seller support. According to SS this new 7 day rolling reserve is permanent for accounts created after June 30 2016. It basically says that money will be reserved for 7 days after the estimated delivery date and then it will be available for withdrawal either through the normal 14 day disbursement or a "Request Transfer" button.

Has anyone else seen this or know if its actually permanent? I clarified twice with SS and they say its here to stay. They even said old accounts will slowly be migrated over to this new policy.

Thank you! This explains a lot! ~10 new accounts of mine are having the same issues. I thought I did something wrong... Now I'm reassured.

I can confirm the request transfer button exists for an account I created a week ago. It is currently under a 14 day hold for being a new account, so I don't know if the 7 day rolling reserve applies. It's a 100% FBA account so that may or may not be treated differently.

My 2 accounts I created prior to June 30th do not have any rolling reserve and do not have a request transfer button.

The request transfer button is there but its only for funds outside of the 14 day disbursement period that are 7 days beyond the estimated delivery date.

All of my other accounts (Older then June 30 2016) do not have the request transfer button.

Someone here of Forum has gone through this new payment rule
and inform us how long it lasts or if it is permanent for months ..

Now that my new account's 14 day probationary period is over, there is NO rolling reserve as far as I can see. Bear in mind that I'm FBA, so different rules apply to me vs FBM sellers. FBM sellers may very well have a permanent EDD + 7 day rolling reserve, which makes sense since there's a risk that FBM sellers confirm shipment, not ship, and take off with the funds, whereas amazon has custody of the products for an FBA sale.

money hold for 47 days even if the items were all delivered after 10 days, and the customers left good feedbacks .. does it really make sense ??

Where do you come up with 47 days?

Also if you're taking 10 days to have items delivered then you're a crappy seller.

This new policy is actually directed specifically at sellers like you. It's the lousy foreigner sellers who take 2 weeks to deliver products that cause the most buyer complaints. Amazon really needs to require that products be shipped from the US (and verify that the sellers are doing so), or enforce a maximum delivery time of 5 business days

yes , I know, but has you can see, many customer from your country still want to buy from seller in many other countries. And judging by the high rate of good feedbacks I receive, my customers are very satisfied with a 10+ days delivery time. It's maybe because they are happy to pay the righ price for what they get and because they are bored with little arrogant sellers

Probably because the tail end of the delivery window for international orders is 30 - 60 days.

I am fine with foreign sellers coming to US and taking market shares, as long as they disclose where they ship from and how long shipping takes.

Some American buyers may be willing to accept the trade-off of lower price and longer shipping time (or even inferior quality). People are free to choose. Sellers are free to compete.

Appears after this 7 day period they just stick you on a 14 day review . Long and confusing.

Money from your orders is reserved in your account until 7 days after the expected delivery date. This ensures the buyer has a chance to verify that everything went well with the order.

I'll report back after my next scheduled disbursement on my new account to let you know if the hold applies to FBA or not.

FYI, just an update.

I'm seeing an unavailable balance on my new account now, it looks like the amount is for all orders shipped within the last 24 hours, definitely not EDD + 7 days. Again, this is an all FBA account so I have no idea how they're applying the rules.

i am also under this rule, its 9 days for FBA after they ship it out (for me) if 2 day shipping was picked by the customer.

But reimbursments are ready for transfer immediatly.

I requested disbursement of sales of 7 October in the early hours of today (15) and pay no the amount was accumulated to 14 more days standby ...

Well, it looks like the new transactions coming in are now being held as unavailable.. that kind of sucks. My typical disbursements are 20 - 30K so that means I'm always going to have a 10 - 15K unavailable balance. That's a lot of $$ to be tied up for no good reason :|

Just a follow up. My six accounts are still under this after a couple of months now doing FBM. Looks like it won't go away. Our products are finally showing up in the buy box instead of the dreaded "see sellers selling this product" button so it def looks like its here to stay.

We've figured out our particular funds availability days though. We can generally request a transfer Wed - Sundays and the accounts will release some funds. Mondays and Tuesdays there is nothing available. It might just be our handling time and their estimated delivery dates. We have completely given up on waiting 14 days. We have been successfully requesting transfers on the days we have noted for 2 weeks now without issue. The amount being released can be calculated before you click request transfer by looking at your reports payments page, closing balance section and total balance. Subtract from that number the dollar amount shown on the "View Details" page under the Unavailable Balance Total.

Yes that's how it is now. I have 4 accounts created after June 30th and they all have 7 day reserve with the Request transfer button. I think I will rather it that way than waiting 2 weeks for disbursement. Now I can request transfer every 7 days and get paid every week...
