ebay does not allow inserting youtube videos in the listings?
 

it seems ebay no longer allow inserting youtube video codes in the listing.

at least on eBay australia, we have a youtube video on most of our listings, and since yesterday when we put on new videos, it said NO! no <iframe> can be included in the html code, which was used in the youtube video code.

now we have to put the video link and ask buyers to copy and past the link in a new browser window.

is there a way around this?

My guess is that eBay's fear is that users would put ads for their own websites in the listings and they would have no way of automatically detecting this.

eBay has always been extremely anal about such things. In fact, before they bought PayPal, they first tried to ban all users from even mentioning them anywhere on their site. When it became clear they could not win that battle, they bought PayPal.

so if I was to put my business' FB link on the listing will that be against their rule?
What happens if I decide to offer seperate items on my FB page that are not listed on EB? will that be a crime to EB?

External advertising is always rough for eb ay. A few auctions might go through - hell, all of them might but if you get caught by an eb ay do-gooder or a rep, your account will get a violation.

Use the other embed code for the youtube vid

No! eBay allowed for YouTube, You can not to use <iframe> in listing, You must choose from YouTube" use old embed code" and everything works fine.

eBay don't allow frames and scripts ,but old type of code is ok.
