number of listings

I looked around the forum regarding this and found a few old threads but was wondering if anyone has more up to date information regarding a 'safe' number of listings at any one time

I have left my stealth to age for a couple of months, sold my used ipad 2, and would like to start listing new items but im not sure what a safe amount would be considering my feedback is currently still at 0.

appreciate the opinions guys :)

apparently the general opinion is to sell slowly, slightly increasing the pace sell by sell, but you also have to gain some positive feedback after you sold an item. at the same time it depends on the sort of items your're selling and the last but not least on your luck))

thanks

if i reach approx 500 fb, and am selling low risk non-vero items around $50.... how many listings do you reckon is safe?
i know as you said luck comes into play too but a general approximation is enough for me

As many as you like on those figures

durdajan 11-13-2011 11:11 AM

no no,such limitation applys only at the very beginning stage. after you got as you said 500fb and are selling ligit items, you're fully confirmed and things, you will able to sell with no limits or maybe the limits will be so low that you will never reach them.

Pringles 11-13-2011 11:23 AM

thanks a lot
would 500 be somewhere around the minimum? or does it get safe somewhere around 300?

anyway at the moment at 0 fb and 2 months old, would 10 listings per stealth be too much? or should i stick to < 5?
keeping in mind that these items are ~$50 each and low risk

durdajan 11-13-2011 04:59 PM

for a 0 fb account, 5 is pretty much. let here sell say 3 and make some stelths to spread the items. this way you're the safest. keep in mind that you're only one month away from being somekind proved by eb. so don't wast this opportunity by hurring up unpatiantly only!!! keep on slowly. but DO sell some legit stuff to get some pos FB!!!

500 or 300? if you're able to reach 300, you will be keeping up with eb telling you what you're and how you're doing. so you will be aware of what is going on and how much you can afford on there. but I personally think that 300 pos fb is somekind of a first step from a beggining.

Depends if you can send all documents asked for by ebay.

For example - I haven't done things the recommended way - but I am still live on fleabay and pp.

I now have 2 stealth acts - linked to pp with 100 limits. 1 with 3 fb and one with 0 fb. We just had the free listing weekend - and I didn't want to miss out on another one so I now have something like 120 listing spread across them. They are still up - admittedly it is only Monday so maybe there is time for them to get pulled.

BUT I was asked for proof of ID and address before this splurge of listing, which I duly supplied.

Yes I am impatient!! But I wanna go on holiday this year :)

If things go pear shaped I will post back.

Pringles 11-15-2011 06:54 AM

isnt it risky to list 120?

FizzyFish 11-15-2011 08:32 AM

Well I think (but bear in mind, I know nothing) it depends on your approach to things.

If you can play the ebay game and provide everything they want then I don't think it is high risk. But I wait to be proved wrong.

Just requires a bit of patience to be ready to play their game. Make sure you are ready with that ace up your sleeve, so to speak ;)

Pringles 11-15-2011 10:45 AM

im also noob but i think i will stick with a somewhat safer approach with less listings to stay under the radar
dont really want to ps any docs
