For the future - if it happens again - don't reply back - there was no message or action to be taken. I have had these on a few accounts in 2010 and 2011 if I recall correctly - I didnt do anything - now that you have called, you have to follow through

No problem gulage - there are glitches on eB where you will get random messages if a particular transaction trips a wire on the software.

Example: sometimes you will get messages from .CN (china) when you never even sell on the platform...and the message is in Chinese! These kind of e-mails I dont take action - you just keep quiet. ONLY when your account is a) suspended e.g. mc999 b) FEES OWING c) various specific MCXXX's - should you be taking action. These "Alerts" and such are gibberish to scare you into doing things that are not needed.

Will depend on which number you call.

the 1-800 number or the regular land-line

For the regular landline could work but why are you risking using old info of ANY kind? Go fresh and new

Are you sort of missing understanding the help you ask to get?

You should not be using old suspended info including phones.

But if your phone number is blocked meaning your number will not display if you call then I don't know what the problem is?

I am not sure if the same thing applies in Australia, but here in the USA, it is IMPOSSIBLE to block caller-id on a call to a toll free (800, 888, 877, etc.) number. The reasoning is that since the owner of the toll-free number is paying for the call, they have the right to know who is calling.

Years ago, collection agencies would set up 800 numbers and have a letter sent - without their name on it - stating that an important message was waiting for you, and please call the 800 number to retrieve your message. Why? So they could capture your phone number to make collection calls. This type of activity is no longer legal here UNLESS they put a disclaimer in the letter stating that it is an attempt to collect a debt and listing the name and address of the collection agency, which kind of defeats the purpose.

I would check to see if the rules are the same in Australia, regarding blocking calls to toll-free numbers.

Hi thank you so much. And you are right, this applies in Australia too. I just did a littlr research.

Well I guess I can be in trouble once again lol. I have used a number to call PayPal for multiple accounts. This my regular mobile number which is not linked to any eBay or PayPal account.

But i have blocked the caller id and called paypal many times using that number. Gosh you learn so much.

So this might b a problem now? Ahhhhh ... Can I use a phone card? Will they know? And I don't have to call the toll free

I would use a totally new number if at all possible, and just tell them you changed providers or something if thy ask. That happens all the time. When people get a new phone number, how many of them think to notify eBay?

Why would that be their business?

A paypal account holder is allowed to contact them whatever way needed.

paypal advertises two contact numbers.

Account holder picks the one most suitable.

Exactly - just takes the knowledge and will to do it - spend more on stealth, yes you may have to experiment in some situations and contribute the experience
