PayPal Requesting Government-Issued ID
 

Hi every1,

I need to get my PayPal limitation removed ASAP. They will not accept bank statements and they want one of the following. The account is in a 'made-up' name so what do I do? If I edit some documents will they check they are genuine??

dont edit a passport because they check the document number to see if your real.

i need my paypal limitation moved quickly also, sitting on 25k worth of genuine high end items all authentic but cant sell them due to limitation

sent in learners permit from my son a/c is in his name and his bank details

also with internet banking on some sites like bank sa you can change your details on there to suit you and then print them off for verification, all comes with bank letterhead and all

sent information to paypal late thursday night 1/4/10 still waiting for a reply

any ideas on how long it takes

i am new to this forum but i like the discussion here as the discussion here is very friendly and helpful. i have got problem here that in australia paypal asks for the governmennt issued id like pasport. i had a paypal account before but it was permanently blocked. i had made a mistake that i had faxed my passport to them before. but now i want to make another ebay and paypal account. and my passport details have been changed as i have renewed my passport. so my question is that will paypal still link my new passport details with the old one if i make another paypal account and send them the currect passport. cheers

The actual ID does not need to be a passport. Since the accusations that passports got forged, I would just tell paypal they are not getting mine.:rolleyes:

A DL should work fine. The DL is easier to supply in any case. If you follow the guides here, you can create an ebay/paypal account and get it to work fine. If/when ID is asked, you worry then.:ranger:

what we should do when our stealth paypal get limited after receiving 2000 dollars. we should remove the limitation by faxing some documents or should make the new one. cheers.

one more question. as there are only 10-15 banks in australia. so this means that we can only make 10 -15 ebay accounts as we have to link the new bank account with new paypal account everytime.

Does Pay Pal actually keep any documents you send them on file?

PayPal has access to that kind of information for confirmation? Seriously?

i dont think that pp has the exess to those private info.

PP will attach the files that you sent to them for each acct

Do you have to edit a photo if sending a DL for verification?

Be creative. Keep in mind the people that look at these things are just looking for stuff that looks funky. And they have to look at countless amounts and are most certainly not paid enough and hate their job.

As far as I know they don't have CIA clearance to scan documents on some super computer like you see on CSI

The key would be the details, not the photo. I'm sure they have had a 2 day seminar on what to "look for"

But photo would not be on that list

Just be careful with the details and be creative. I don't think details beyond that are really a good idea out in the free air.

Now, if you get someone checking that you went to high school with, you're screwed. ;)

IMO - Don't sweat the photo

pp will only have passport numbers DL numbers that you have previously supplied to them. They are not a Government agency they dont have access to anything else.

Hi all, just got limited. Have nearly 2K in there in need to get out. im using a variation of my name with genuine surname and a made up D.O.B. + friends adress. They are asking to confirm that this details are correct(adrress & D.O.B.).
1. should i just confirm that all is correct?(they might request proof)
2. if they require further proof should i alter the details on my licence? and utility bill?
3. Is there any way they could check those details? (mach person to D.O.B., D/L number)
4. If i somehow get busted can i adjust details to my real ones d.o.b. and adress and get the money out? or if you are cought then money is lost for good?

When they ask you to confirm it, that doesn't mean a verbal confirmation from you that its correct. It means they want proof. You will need docs for everything they ask for

I need help with this one too, I have just had paypal limit my stealth account and ask for government issued ID and utility bill with the same address as my paypal account. Unfortunately I don't have this info and have a large sum of money in my paypal account can someone please give me some advice on what to do.
