Paypal ID and address verification
 

Does anyone know if paypal au can or will check NSW Drivers licence number and passport numbers, as well as biller codes on utility bills?

My understanding is Paypal are using Veda Advantage. From this they get a licence and name. But not everyone is on Veda (only if you applied for credit in last five years). However if you happen to use a license number that is legit and belongs to someone else and pops up on their database as belonging to another person you are done.

I am of the understanding they can confirm Passport numbers. They could not check Biller accounts on Bpay as that would ean they had access to other business customer accounts ie TElstra etc.. which would never happen.

Use the Birth Certificate option. Beats them with the photo as well.

I was told, that paypal can check DL numbers in all other states in Australia part from NSW. Can anyone confirm this info?

I doubt it, I say this only due to personal experience.

Hi, palpay have asked for photo id and address verification. I have used a family members address for my ebay stealth account, and a variation to my name.I was planning on sending them my birth cerficate and a bill from a family members home.

I am a bit worried about getting "creative" with the paperwork. Does it work or am i screwed????

I think that it will work.. Also paypal does not need the passport number and the driving license number so you don't have to reveal that to the.. the same goes with utility bill information - you don't have to send reveal your account information.. just your address, name and date of birth will be fine. It has been working for me just fine...


Paypal and ebay don't need passport numbers, drivers numbers and utility bill numbers and will not check them if you don't provide them with that information...
