- - Could this work?
Could this work? Lets say you had a real paypal account that you had verified with your drivers license and bank statement for proof of photo ID and proof of address but after some time you became limited/suspended.
What if you make a new user on your PC with a new IP address, make a new paypal account but verify it with your passport, and a NEW bank account with a NEW address .. could this work in achieving a new legit/real paypal account to use for buying/selling? |
| expiredpeanutbutter | 06-24-2011 11:33 AM | rsot, Eminem, and gtran will be on shortly but if I can add my 2 cents I think it may work as long as you don't use your drivers license and everything is fresh. When you get a chance pick up the ebaystealthguide it's well worth it :pop2:
sorry I couldn't be of more help to ya! |
In the long run, sadly I would believe it will fail. The passport info matches old ID used - it would take a simple monkey at pa yp al to do a document check and see name and similar info march up.
Edit: saw Expiredpeanutbutter's comment - what a name, your new nickname will be ExpiredCondiment - OP used driver's licence before. |
| expiredpeanutbutter | 06-24-2011 11:40 AM | oh sorry i didn't know i thought pp will only be care if the passport has been used or not lol |
| GrannyT | 06-24-2011 11:55 AM | Short term yes - long term no - The lumberjack executive explained it right
:pop2: |
Yeah I get what you mean :( Thanks guys, just figured I'd check |
TIMBERRRRR for this account =( weak joke but yeah sadly - short term though true but why bother with the risk. |
So do you guys just ask the seller to ship to your real address before buying with the stealth account? |
I myself have 2 types of accounts - seller only (complete stealth - don't care about returns OR if needbe, instructed buyers to return to a diff address) or buyer/seller (also stealth but since I buy, the address is something like a po box or something at which I can get my item and not worry about people dropping by for a visit).
And no vero or stuff like that but the less private info that's out, the safer I feel. |
| oompaloompa | 06-24-2011 03:50 PM | ok you want to know how to buy with stealth acc? well check they will ship somewhere else before you bid, if its low value they normally say ok. Only issue is if transaction goes wrong and you cant query the shipment with ebay/paypal, and also some sellers will ship using paypals system ie add your requested address in to system...which isnt necessarily a problem, just if you are flagged for something else, they may look closer at all the info on your acc... |
| macbook | 06-24-2011 11:40 PM | How about family member accounts, such as husband and wife. Whereas the address is the same, but the SSN and all other info is different?
Technically, they are separate even though both reside at the same address. Does paypal care?
I ask cause the wife and I both have separate paypal accounts, but the same address, so far paypal hasnt accused us of being connected...... |
| GrannyT | 06-25-2011 02:31 AM | Yes Paypal does care. Bear in mind you are dealing with a company that has millions of accounts. They tend to get uppity when all the accounts are involved with Ebay.
Away from Ebay Paypal is a different ball game |
| oompaloompa | 06-25-2011 03:17 AM | they do not accuse you of being connected until one acc has a problem.... its fine for family members to have seperate accs, its just one family member or room mate or whatever can sometimes, not always, take down the rest.... |

3 other people have sold items via their ebay on my computer - when my account got suspended so did theres simply because of that it seems, be careful. |
| ShadyOne | 06-25-2011 10:12 AM | ^ Yes, happens to a lot of people. One of the biggest parts of stealth is sperating accounts and keeping them that way. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:09 AM. | |
