Invoices keep giving me Permanent limitation :(
 

Last 2 weeks. I have been asked to produce invoices for 2 paypal accounts.

both verified with woolworths pre-paid mastercard.

The phone numbers on both accounts are real and verified by code.

Both accounts, I've submitted photo id and proof of address in August and all was fine.

Both accounts was never linked through any other way and i never got any emails saying it's a permanent limitation.

2 weeks ago one of my paypal accounts got limited and they only asked me for invoices. Submitted a real receipt from JBhifi. it had everything from their shop address, phone number and ABN.. Boom next day i got permanent limitation saying I am a risky member. :s

This morning same thing happened to another account. This time i submitted an edited real receipt of Bing lee. The original receipt contains shop address, phone number, their ABN. I just edited the item I made sure that bing lee was indeed selling the item before doing that just incase paypal called the store up and asked if they had the item in their store. BOOM! 10 minutes ago i just found out it's a permanent limitation.

I am 100% convinced it's got to do with the invoices. Even though one was real and the other was semi real. lol What am i doing wrong? :(

I have a suspicion that maybe it has to do with the price of the items i that i bought them for? The Bing lee one i edited. I edited the price to match bing lee's website because i did not want paypal to call them and ask about the price and it didn't match. so the price on the 2nd receipt was about $100 more than what i sold it for.

None of the accounts mention being linked to another. Both didn't ask for any other proof except invoices.

It is more your business practices than the invoices.

Invoices should not be lower than the selling price.

paypal would be suspicious of that at once.

what do you mean by business practices? do you mean the prices?

what would be safe prices to put on invoice? the same as what i am selling? a little higher? a little lower?

Think about it:

Are you in business to make money or give invoices to paypal to go on using their site?

You should be aiming to make money.

Should be an expectation of (a small) profit.

Provide invoices with a reasonable price so looks like you are doing business to make profit. Logical goal of business.

Now - either debate and push back with pp or the account will be limited for good.

eBay/PayPal get suspicious when brand name items are sold for less than the normal price. They know there is no secret source of $40 iPhones, $2 DVD's, etc. So, when you list such items below the normal price, they assume the goods are either stolen or counterfeit, and they don't want to deal with it in either case.

But it is also correct that they would be suspicious of ANY receipt given that shows the price you paid being HIGHER than what you sold it for. Business does not work that way. At least not the ones that stick around.

Certainly receipts sent to the likes of paypal should never be like that.

It flags the account at once.

Just wanted to give an update. i haven't been asked for an invoice again until today. I took everyone's advice on board and i submitted an invoice today and it worked well and this time did not result in permanent limitation. thanks for the replies everyone. so happy i worked this one out.
