how many revisions is safe on a listing before ebay becomes supicious?

I have revised a listing like 5 times this morning .. it wasn't appearing in the search and i couldn't figure out why ... but anyway!! does this raise flags with eBay?

riversnew 03-17-2010 12:56 PM

Each revision counts against your selling limit, whatever that might be. Even when you fiddle with your temples that counts also and might bring on selling limitation.

coolcat80 03-17-2010 02:58 PM

wow that sucks!!... because I must have revised like 5 times. guess im done for month...trial and error i guess

kolapo 03-17-2010 07:19 PM

they will slam you with mc067 for abusing eBay. I just gat my account suspended last week for 4 revisions. I hope it doesn't happen to you.

riversnew 03-17-2010 10:29 PM

A BIN listing with 10 items for sale will count against your limitation once. This is some bizarre ebay's logic. So you can create several of BINs auctions, each with 10 items and you are good to go.

Do not revise. Take your time when creating listings. Revising your auction will reduce your selling limit and you will NOT be able to list. It sucks and its not right but thats what they do for a fact.

wow..i didnt know that..ebay is f'n whacked... i was revising too like i forgot to click new w tags or something using auctiva so i did it in my ebay revise.. and i had 2 accounts go down w no explanation from ebay at all... does anyone know if you post thru w auctiva does ebay still get your ip or auctiva hides it?

cardfelon 04-22-2010 05:59 PM

Auctiva doesn't share your information with Ebay. You are submitting your posting through Auctiva and Ebay will see Auctiva's IP address not yours. Auctiva could care less what your IP is or how many accounts that you have

Seriosuly? My old account, which was flagged for other stuff, not revisions, had some listings with upwards of 40 revisions... changes I made to the description, price updates (I sold coupons, and lowered the prices as the expiration got nearer, and when a particular expiration sold out, I'd revise the description to reflect the new expiry).

I never had a selling problem/limit with doing revisions. I was closed because I was stupid and linked accounts before I knew any better.

oompaloompa 04-23-2010 12:30 PM

I actually noticed they changed that thing about revisions and selling limit...it used to be the case that if I revised eg, pic didnt show up after id pressed confirm, you could not revise it or youd get limit message - that changed a year back...

You should be able to revise the price and some description text or quantity of items available.

Just try not to make it a regular habit.
