Weird Error Message In Listing

So I am trying to list and I am getting an error message in the Description Field. I have no idea what this means.

"Your listing cannot contain javascript (".cookie", "cookie(", "replace(", IFRAME, META, or includes), cookies or base href."

Anyone??

I suggest to contact live help, it is something with your listening html code. How does your description looks like? You code html on your own?

Did you Copy and Paste onto your Ebay ad from somewhere else?

Good idea, I'll try the live help. I use no HTML whatsoever, just regular description with words only, no coding. I even erased everything and started over. Still error. I tried only putting in a few words in the description , still got same code. ???

Yes I copied and pasted my own listing from one of my other accounts selling the same item, but Ive done that a hundred times with no problems.

I'll have to check the HTML tab to see if there's anything in there. There shouldn't be because I never use HTML.

What internet browser do you use. I saw filling description in IE and Firefox is different.

aking 08-14-2010 12:35 PM

I only use Firefox.

I see some interetsting thing about different browsers. IE and firefox have different description filling forms, different buttons: bolder, font size and so on. Try with IE.

I deleted all the HTML and started over and it worked. Some coding must of gotten jumbled when I copied my listing. Oh well, problem solved, thread closed. Thanks guys.:yar:

Hi there..newbie here. Have turned to this forum for help a couplle times and thought it's now my turn to contribute.
I had the same problem for the first time today. Here's how I solved it without having to delete HTML and have to re-do everything.
I clicked on the HTML tab. All that jibberish is nothing more than computer speak for what you have just entered. Scan along the lines until you find the error..it will be spelled out for you. In my case, it was a javascript thingie. I just deleted that one line with the offending words. Going back to the description, some HTML jibberish will be at the bottom of it...just delete that and you're good to go.
Not too sure what this forum is about...but, you sure offered some good help when I need it. Thanks to all.
