Question How to not compete against my own auctions

Hello

Maybe this question is a noob question here but any way I hope I can find an answer. I have been selling covers for iphone on ebay at a rate of 1 per day. I have many covers to sell and all are of the same kind but I am afraid that if I list more than 1 per day I am going to end competing with my own auctions and lose money. What strategy do you use to sell large quantities of the same stuff without jeopardizing your own auctions? My goal is to sell at least 10 or 20 per day without affecting the price of the other listings. What do you recommend?

With auctions you can stagger the end time by a hour or so.
Most folks do not bid till the end anyway.

What I do.. and it always works like a charm..

I would list your listing in auction form.. maybe even 2 of them a day... but at the very top of the listing.. have a pictured(link) to your "buy it now" for the product. Say...

If you'd like to "Buy it now" click here.. !!!

It is a good idea to run 7 day listings, one, two or three for each day. This way you will have maximum exposure and be driving the buyers that's don't want to wait around on the computer all day to buy from your buy it now listing. The more people that buy from your buy it now listing.. will ultimately drive your listing higher up on the best match search function.

Hope this helps. good luck

If you the prices on your auctions are usually ending close to the same price then why not just do a BIN for a average price that your comfortable with. You can move way more product that way in a shorter time frame.

Yes I have been thinking on that but I have a felling that ebayers now days are there hunting for bargains..... The auction format give them the feeling they are going to get that I dont know if a buy it know will get the same attention. I am going to try some buy it nows this weeks to see what happens. Any more ideas?

Yeah like the rest said, do buy it now at the average sell price or a little bit below. You will sell a ton more than 1 per listing.

Have several auctions end throughout the day and stagger the end times. Also have a Fixed Price Listing (only one, as per egay rules).

As mochacolaclassic said, have a blurb about your Fixed Price BIN listing in the auction.

I also time my auctions just right. I always wait until 6pm to list anything. That is when people are at home and off from work. I have noticed that my selling prices are a bit higher when I list them that way vs morning or afternoon listings. I also list more things on the weekends when a lot of people are off from work. I list things throughout the day on the weekends. I put my auctions to end on a 7 day auction, one or two per hour.
