Default use your own picture?

Is it better to use your own picture of a item or use one that you find on the web?

Ideally you should use your own picture unless you have permission to use someonelses or it is public domain.

The problem is if someone reports you for using their pic without their authorisation, you will get a strike from ebay and you lsting will be cancelled.

Its not that much of a strike, but too many strikes and ur out 4 good.

You need to use your own pictures. If you use other peoples pictures or manufactures pictures then your listing will get removed.

Best to use your own but if you find a pic on the web, do some modifications - size change, add user stamp, etc. to make it look different than a random "pull" which eb ay hates.

ok lesson learned then, i listed an item and just decided "MEH i will just use this picture here..." and it was someones stock photo from a popular site. About 10 minutes later the listing was removed from ebay. I would think this is was caused it to go down so quickly.

Take your own pictures, I noticed on new ebay accounts in the past ebay would take down my listings just because I used stock photos, so I would relist with my own pics, and they'd never bother me again.

Yes.. me too.

I also have been in trouble for scanning my own item! - I think the people (manufacturers) thought I used their picture from their site as my scan was very good quality - I dont scan anymore - its a shame coz its fast and fun - I just take homemade 3rd party photos of my items now

THEY still may be able to track it, if one gets suspended the whole chain cycle will go down along with it.. tracking all the other accnts by a stupid pic... the best/safest way, no matter wat is to take out all the meta data from it use the o so powerful Google
