What is a good 'Stealth' Picture Hosting solution?

Hi everyone!

For quite a while I had been using my Virginmedia webspace to store my eBay picture files in, however I left virgin media a few months ago and I now use a mobile broadband service which works out considerably cheaper for what I need it for. Until today I have still been able to use my virgin media webspace but today as I was trying to list some items as its a free listing weekend on eBay I noticed that I am no longer able to log into my virginmedia FTP server or storage space, plus any of the old images I had on my eBay auctions are no longer showing the images. Can anyone recommend a decent - ideally free webspace provider or picture hosting website which is suitable for linking to ebay auctions?

kind regards

Johnny

photobucket or imageshack.

If you do chose photobucket, remember they were on that share info list with ebay

This was where a group of websites were going to share some info supposedly for marketing purposes

So make sure you do not load photographs or sign in, in other user accounts. Just at the moment I don't think we know enough about what info they are sharing.

coz they never delete your images and there is no need to make account

i use use.com - it allows image hosting/ad templates & a free gallery.

Yeah, we all thought the same in 2011 when the thread started.

Do you never notice stuff like that in your quest to add to your post count?

ebay do allow 12 pictures for free, surely thats more than sufficient? how many angles of pictures are you planning to take?

you could also use sites like imageshack and embed the pictures within your listing (but I dont think ebay likes that since its not hosted on their server).

What's wrong with keeping pictures on your PC? Why do we have to find a Hosting solution?

Are you talking about when you have like way too many images that are taking up too much space on your hard drive?

Ebay stores every picture you upload. If you just post ONE picture (their minimum requirement) and host all of your pictures, you can embed them into the DESCRIPTION on your auction. If you delete them later from your host, ebay doesn't have the pictures.

And eBay having photos is bad because...?

You cant get linked via photo.....most sellers selling repeat items use stock photos which you can pull from anywhere....so theres no way to prove images as linkable.....the only reason youd need a host is to add countless pictures to the description

We are talking about non cleaned pics...Not cleaned pics.

BUT if you have several accounts using identical pictures and are a problem to ebay, a manual review CAN cause a problem. Identical pics, titles and description can cause a problem.
