How slow shoud I start selling on ebay as a new seller?

I am in the same situation on two new stalth accounts and i am selling one item per week for now. I am thinking to increase to two per week in the beggining of the second month.

On a new seller account, you will probably be limited to 10 items or $500 in sales per month, which ever comes first.

Slower the better to be on the safe side...others go a little quicker but thats always risky, and increases possibility of being asked for ID, utility, proof of ownership, supplier invoices etc etc.

Spreading sales over multiple stealth accounts is key if you want to sell a little quicker straight from the off.

It all depends on what you are selling. In many categories you get limits as the poster above said. Other categories you get no limits at all.

It also depends on your registration info, risk to them, how much the items are, feedback, dsr ratings and dsr 1's and 2's, etc. There is so much to it so just start slow. I dont think a couple items a week is slow though. That is excruciating. To me slow is 10-20 items per week. There should be no reason you couldnt list a couple things a day. Just ship them VERY fast and please the customers. That will do a lot in itself.

See i reckon 10-20 items a week on an account with no selling history is very fast and risky...like i said everyone has differing opinions.

I think one of the main factors is the type of item you are selling and the risk ebay see's it representing to them..

You might be right on an account with absolutely no history. I started right up though since I wanted some feedback to get that 21 day hold off. I stopped getting that hold in the 1st week or so. It was nice since i was broke as hell at the time. lol

King is completely right on this.

I have new accounts selling 30-50 items per week because they are low risk and inexpensive. Every single account is completely fine. Stay on top of your game and don't make excuses.

This always depends on what you are selling and you all should know that by now.

What types of items are considered 'low risk' and what is not?

Some of the types of items I have/need to sell (these are not from a business, these are personal/used items I'm selling)...

low-cost jewelry ($5-15 per item)
nick-nacks & collectibles ($4-15 per item)
tools ($5-10 per item)
collectible playboy magazines ($5-10 each)
computer parts ($50-100 per)
hard drives ($275 per)
laptop ($200)
servers ($1000 & $1500)
raid card ($200)
android tablet ($275)
... etc

The problem is when you list multiples at a low price and say they are brand new. use stock photos from the net and use website text. That is what usually pisses off VERO reps.

If its just you used stuff then go and list it. Just dont list them like you are some website selling tons of them. you are a normal seller just getting rid of some stuff is how you should portray yourself when new.

Plus you need to make sure you mention EVERY problem on these things. If they are junk dont claim they are the best there is. If there is a scratch show in in a photo. Dont just forget to mention it. The buyers are putting up with that crap anymore and they have the power to take you out fast.

Dont get any complaints and ship the same day if you can. Good luck
