Default How different does my image have to be?

Hi Guys,

So I like to sell same items under 2 different account, i really don't have time to take 2 separte completely different pictures. Can we just give it different image size and different watermark, would that work?

Also I like to use picture hosting service like inkfrog or auctiva, that won't create a URL linking problem right?

Thanks!!

How long can it take to get another picture? I would think for the piece of mind that know there is no chance of linking by picture that the 5-10 seconds would be worth it. It's the little things that come back to bite you in the end.

I take multiple pictures of every new product I get with different backgrounds.

I have a place set up in the garage when I get a new product that I can re purchase I take 6-8 pictures on each new colored background and put them on a thumbdrive in case I need them.

On each account folder I mark what color I use for that particular account.

You can buy material at most Wal Marts or other places for reasonable.

The other trick is to change the location of the picture I take. Meaning straight on, from the top, side, bottom etc.

When I start up a new account I see which color I have not used and have the pictures already stored and ready to crop.

Well we photoshop all of our images, so it takes forever to do all of our images again. We have a lot of items. The different background sounds good, so can I maybe photoshop different backgrounds?

Default So if I use 3 different screen name..

If I use 3 different ebay name with the same inkfrog account that is not recommended right? after all there could be some mistake in sharing pictures or the token process may give it away?

I never really paid attention the image file propertie, but I always take the pic with a different background and always from the camera. I pop in the memory stick in the computer and transfer the file to my desktop and change the picture name and upload to ebay with no problems.

i believe if you don't remove the exif data from all your pics you are giving ebay yet another possible way to link your accounts....there is butt-load of information that is stored in exifs

why give them another source to link you by if you don't have to....there are many exif tag removers and they are simple and quick to use...

Default Thanks!

So if I resize the image in photoshop and save it as a new file, would it contain different exif code? or do I need to use a exif code remover?

its up to you, take a look at the data to see if you are comfortable with them seeing it.
Use a small program called exiftool.exe.

Just use BatchPurifier, it takes like 2 seconds to overwrite your images with no code.

exifcleaner free download

here is another programme to remove exif data from pics

just take the same pic and have diff backgrounds

then remove exif data

its a known fact now that they can link by photos

so you have to make the time for it

anyone unsure check out this thread by HWGA http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-tr...highlight=exif

Thanks for the tip! So even if its a completely different image since I resized it and saved it as a new file, put a new watermark on it.. the Exif is still the same?

If you open it with photoshop as a psd then resize and resave it as a jpg... I don't think the camera's data is there anymore...
