When to, when not to list?

Hi, I listed some items last month and they immediately came onto the 1st page after doing a search. I listed the exact same item today but they're not to be found even on the firdt 10 pages. would anyone know the reason for this?
Thanks

Sometimes it can take a few hours for an item to appear anywhere on ebay...

Sometimes it goes on straight away... Also depends if you scheduled a time for it to list or not...

Im an old time seller and on new accounts with 0 feedback I list items and soemtimes the items appear quickly in less than 1 hour and sometimes items appear until the 12th hour. Im in the usa and I think sometimes listings have to get approved first by the bot system or by some ebay rep and I have come to think that is where mc999 and other violations come in.

The thing is the listing appeared but 1st last time it was on the 1st page and this time it's very, very further down..

It was either a glitch, or there wasn't much of that certain product on ebay that week...

That's all I can think of... Your listing usually goes down the list depending on how many days you listed for

i cant imagine that a rep would look at the 1000's of listings that are put up every hour. there is no way on earth they would be able to keep up. it would take so many reps, it would cost a fortune.

i have noticed the longer it takes for a listing to post, the more likely to get mc999 tho

I have also noticed the longer a listing takes to show up its mostly a mc999 violation.

What is a mc999 violation?
Thanks

It's an eBay violation. This type of violation could be a number of things from copyright patent laws to general rules associated to your individual account.
