Selling limits

I have been selling for 4 months now. Never have i sold a risky item but i still have a limit of 1000dollars per month or 10 items. I only have 6 positive feedbacks. Why do they have limits on accounts?

seanws30 12-23-2011 06:30 PM

how many items have you sold in the 4 months?

if you dont sell enough ebay wont think you need higher limits and wont raise them from my experience

They have limits on accounts because too many people were abusing their system.

It's just another hurdle we have to go through. I have a Gold PS, TRS account that has a limit of 150/£25,000 per month and every month I have to increase it.

Every new account gets limits now - foo-foo and scammers strike again!!

I've been on the phone that many times I thought I would have got an invite to the staff Christmas Party

Granny, how old is your gold ps?

7 months

With only 6 feedback in 4 months it appears they dont need to lift them.

You need to always sell right up to your limits every month to show them a reason for lifting the limits.

sell more. I did, I even took a loss on some items just to be able to show I have sold. Once they saw I will eventually need the increase they gave it to me. eBay won't automatically increase your limits because they don't see you need them. Do it slow but try to sell 9 items that month, show them you want to sell more, show them the 9 is not enough. This has worked for me anyway. Try it :-)

selling right up to my limits has worked on 2 acct's and selling under the limits has worked on another.

The main thing is to be a fantastic seller in every way - any problems - nip them in the bud. It's not worth the pennies of pounds in my opinion - and Ive been rewarded automatically & generously by eb for it.

I wish more people would read this and understand that you will be rewarded for your good business, service and shipping.

Leaving feedback after they pay and offering free gifts with the package can give you a pretty good rep and bring in the feedback faster.

I had one customer order 2 of the same item, then realized I only had one left so gave her a full refund and sent the one for free, she was tickled pink.

And jb still profits from this - go figure that out =)

Tickled pink - pulled that one from old school expressions...

I just set up two more ebay accounts and one has the $1000/10 items a month limit, but the other one doesn't have a limit. I think the limit is related to public data, accepting paypal or not, and how the paypal account is set up.
