Not listing sweatpants in 'Clothing' category?

One of the things I'll be selling is sweatpants (several) and instead of listing in the Clothing category where they probably should be...Do you think I could list them in this other category? (mentioned below) It would help in saving money from eBay's ridiculous fees which will just add uP.

Technically, you could argue that they can also fall under: "Sporting Goods > Exercise & Fitness > Gym & Workout > Clothing, Shoes & Accessories > Other" - Couldn't they? ;)

There's currently nobody else selling the same ones as me, so I don't really think it would put me at much of a disadvantage in terms of competing with another seller who did have them in the right category.

Thoughts? :pop2:

Sounds decent if you plan it out in the appropriate category. Just don`t go way off topic.

I always noticed that the same items sell for more then they are listed in right category instead of wrong category.

Another point is being careful of not letting ebay think you are trying to bypass listing requirements

They get seiously upset about that - the extra 2.5% FVF must be very important to their bottom line

I'll be the only one on eBay selling these specific ones..I guess I'll do a test by posting them in one category for 2 weeks, and in the other for 2 weeks. I'll compare the interest I get and of course the sales. Listing format will be Buy It Now btw, not an auction

Yeah I'm confident now that I'll be ok. Just asked here for some reassurance :P It could technically fall under that category as well
