Can ebay link pictures to your suspended acccount?
 

Hello, can anyone please shed a bit of light?

Im really puzzled by picture uploading on ebay. im really not very teckie at all. If i use my camera + card that I allways have, take brand new pictures, upload the pictures onto my laptop (but a separate user account) and then upload them to ebay, is that risky?

Is there a way of deleting all the info/data from my pictures so they cant link it?

or can i just crop them on ebay? and it wont show up?

Ive read loads of threads on here . im still scratching my head a little, very confused.
I have allso followed links to download something that cleans my pictures but it just takes me to a video from Wierd Al singin about ebay haha.

Sorry if sound a bit stooopid, but I just dont get it! im doing everything i can to get it right and to make sure I dont get booted off again! :noidea:

Short answer is you need to wipe all extra info on any picture taken with a camera. Never use the same picture for multiple account.

Take your pictures from your camera, edit them and then use something like this...

BatchPurifier LITE - Free Metadata Removal Tool

Never use the the same pictures on different ebay accounts.

Ensure that everything about your stealth account is NEW.

Avoid links to anything old.

That includes photos, listings.

Quite a few posts about this OP - yes you can be linked with your pictures and images - strip them, fix them up, stamp em, lot of options exist.

Brand new pictures are proper - good.

This is what I use and it works perfectly for me.

I have several backgrounds ready to use on all of my accounts.

Different angles and different backgrounds help a ton.

Also, is the free version of this program the one you use or do you suggest one of the other paid programs they offer?

Eh they really dont track you down because of using the same pictures.
They link you to another account because of info attached to the picture.

Basically, you want to strip out the EXIF data. There are several programs that do this. Also, never use the exact same pictures across multiple accounts, even with the EXIF data stripped out.

Same photos have been proven to link accounts for some users who had major stealth issues.

Any recommendations for Macs? Most of my laptops are macs but I have a Dell... somewhere. Might be time to bring it back alive.

No recommendation on the use of Mac here...I am used to PCs but other users will comment...or look at the threads discussing Mac computers.

BatchPurifier works well. I use it daily. The free version can only handle .jpeg files and nothing else though.

I just got a new phone (switched from an android Galaxy s4 to a Windows phone). Does this mean I no longer need to use BatchPurifier?

(I take the pics with my phone)

Every camera/phone attaches exif data to the pix. So if you have multiple stealths they can be linked thru this.
