Digital pics

Alot of my competitors have modified pictures. I just have the ones taken by my phone or from googled. They are cleaned before upload. However.....which programmes create these digitally arranged pics?? Could do with using one?? Anyone ??

Photoshop.... or even paint can do a lot if you know what you're doing.

You're taking pictures of things you're selling with your phone? (yikes...)

MM78 07-30-2013 07:44 PM

Don't you have a decent digital Camera?

levi6482 07-31-2013 06:09 AM

Yes what's wrong with this?? And yes I have a good camera but phone pixel is better?? I clean all photos before uploading as already stated

In fairness to the OP a lot of camera take very good pictures these days.

If your business does take off and does well, I would invest in a compact DSLR camera as they are very very good.

Might be concerns of not just using up all your data but if you had the ebay app
too.
Different strokes for different folks.

No I don't have the eBay app & I just take pics upload them onto the user account...clean & then upload. No point getting a camera just yet but I do intend to in the future. Would just like to tweak the pics & make them look more professional??

Couple of freebies then

GIMP

Photoscape

Picasa

Would expect you could find enough with those.

Free is nice

Yeah I have a 14 or 16 MP one, but the ones on my phone seem to always come out better.

Be careful when editing your photos. If the item doesnt look just like the photo, you risk getting "Item not as described" disputes.

Cannot tell if that is sarcasms or not. Dam the internet.

If it is not, just to let you know GIMP is a program.

levi6482 07-31-2013 11:09 AM

Haha yes I was messing...but that was my initial thoughts!! Thanks guys

Also, if you store your pictures on another website (i.e. photobucket or smugmug) and upload to your ebay listing using html code, it can get you linked to your suspended account if the html link was used previously.

I personally deleted my pb account that was associated to a suspended account and created a new one. Just something to keep in mind...

Dont forget some online services like Instagram if you wish to jazz up these pictures...shrug, just ideas.

I have to say lackluster pics on eBay I just shake my head. See people list item with their phone cameras etc. Basically a two sentence description.

If you consider yourself a "seller" on the Bay. Get a camera that works for you. Learn what lighting, backgrounds, etc best showcase your products and most accurately. My Digital Camera is 10 years old and I get compliments on my pics matching my description all the time.

I see morons list items every day with a horrible background Horrible pictures completely do their item disservice because they are lazy. And I apply this to people who use stock photos. If you take the time to take your own clean pictures and upload them to both eBay and learn enough HTML to put them in the body it does your sales wonders.

I hear you vogeltron - but yes, some of these sellers do make BANK with the listing info...yes, a lot of customers will ask questions about the photos but...on eB, anything goes...good quality listings can fail and poor quality listings can succeed ...and vice-versa - to each his own
