Default Shipping: purchasing label with pending funds?

Perhaps something changed, or I need to read better.. However, I have always paid for shipping either directly through USPS, stamps.com, or through the post office. Today I decided to go ahead and finally use eba* and their shipping service and pay for postage with (what I thought anyway) my pending pp funds. I had two sales today, on my second sale, I did the same, and the option came up "pay right now or pay when Pp releases funds?" (something of this sort).. I chose the option to pay later, because I don't have the funds in my account to pay for postage, which is why I opted to pay for shipping this way..

I checked my pp account and it shows that my first label was purchased using instant bank transfer. That label ended up costing me $35 (boo).

In short: using eb** shipping to pay for postage and print labels, is it normal for the first label to be withdrawn from your bank account rather than from pending funds (or from a later date?).

I'm wondering if I simply screwed up and missed a checkbox or something and screwed myself over :( btw, I tried searching for this, found references but nothing specific (most dealt with printing and paint directly through pp).

Thanks.

I think you must have missed the option to pay with funds instead of bank transfer. You should have no problem usually paying for shipping from the 21-day held funds, just can't pay fee's from it...

When you get into the PayPal section of the label purchase you need to select the correct payment method or it will automatically withdraw from your card or bank account.

Dang it. I think this is what I may have missed. My bank charged me $29.00 for a 'bounced check' fee since I had no funds in that account - And PayPal sent me an email a few days later saying that the charge for shipping did not go through and that they would attempt again within 3 days (had funds within the account that time though..I hope).

I even tried voiding the label, and eB** said it would take 15 days for a refund. Ughh. The stupid mistake of mine cost me my electricity bill :P

Everything works great now with the 'Paying later' option for shipping - However, that very first one hurt.

If it is the first time on the acct and you try to pay with pending funds you must register first and it will try to use your cc or bank but there is a work around you choose an option and click buy postage and once it goes to next screen your registered and now go back and click the pay later box. Now the pay later is always there. This only happens the first time
