Can PayPal see the name on the bank account?
 

If I link my PayPal account to a bank account with a mismatching name, can PayPal see that name?

Nah. But that's changed recently in the UK so they might be able to soon.

Yes they can, but they don't seem to care.

No mate. Not in Australia. If you send money to PayPal then yes. But from PayPal to bank no

Yes I've read that somewhere. A poster above has suggested my bank might reject any PayPal deposits from a mismatching name. If the poster is correct, then PayPal ain't the problem, the bank is the problem.

Yeah I seen that. I specifically posted in a Aus sub so people from other countries don't weigh in on the thread. I was getting mixed messages on another forum due to the UK crowd weighing in on the thread, and of course things are different in the UK.

I suppose as long as PayPal don't take back their verification micro deposits, they won't see the name.

The reason a bank will reject an incoming deposit with a name different from the bank account holder is Fraud.
Dont know how NZ banks work,but UK banks are now checking names.
I would think US and Canada will soon do the same.
Before internet,when we go to deposit a check which is not made out to us,dont we need the person whose name is on the check to endorse it on the back of the check?
Then some banks would not even accept such deposits.

Take it from me: Aussie Paypal can't see it when you only RECEIVE money from Paypal and send to Bank acco****, but the other way they can, but they DONT CARE. I've created 10 or so aussie stealth and it's never been an issue.

The DVS verification system is the most important
