Selling with 0 feedback

Hi there

If I have 0 feedback ebay account, and I am selling high end item, how do you think I should list it?

Is it good by auction style or fixed BIN style?

As there is too much Nigerian scam bidding on my item while I put it on bidding style. i was thinking with fixed price style, I can set, require immediate payment method to overcome the scam.

I will used my own original picture of the item as well. The problem is , I am 0 feedback, do you think customer will buy it with BIN price?

Do you think it will work?

Thanks

you should be ok, the only people that really care about feedback is ebay!

Yes, give it a go,just make your auction page look really professional

its funny, you would think people would not buy from you with zero but they do, but make the first few items cheap and bargains, then you will have feedback to sell the things you really want.

So do you guys think it is better to sell used mobile phones for BIN or auction style?

Thanks

oompaloompa 02-01-2010 06:09 AM

either, depends on if you think it will sell and what for, but I would do it at auction - look at similar lisitng end prices and calculate your fees from there

Ohyes, and here comes the bad buyer with "0" feedback using the BIN on my item, but there is never any signal of them showing that they are serious to make payment. i have put requirement. immediate payment requirement on my listing, but will it make other positive buyer don't want to buy my product?

Thanks

oompaloompa 02-01-2010 07:32 AM

^^you can resolve that one with opting for immediate payment on BIN

I am so sick and tired of Nigerian scammers on eBay, Craiglist and in your emails. They love PayPal. I hate em and i am not afraid to say it because they are so annoying.

Cell phones are highly looked at by eBay. I would make sure the account is at least 30 days old. And don't do a 3 day auction listing, this is just another red flag.

You wont be able to list an item as BIN with 0 Feedback. You need at least 5. Best to sell a few bits to get some good feedback. You will get a higher price for your item plus your ebay account is likely to live longer.

Agreed, be extremely careful selling cell phones (used or new) on eBay. Counterfeit phones are available all over the place, and the Internet usually seems like a good place to get rid of stolen phones to baddies that don't know any better.

Due to these factors, eBay and PayPal scrutinizes these types of transactions very closely, and before you even think about moving into volume sales, make sure that you have all your ducks in a row as far as proof of inventory, invoices, etc., because you will almost definitely be asked to provide them at some point.

If you're starting with 0 feedback, treat your account carefully. The longer it is alive, the better it will treat you, so you don't want to muck it up with your first few auction attempts!
