Sorry for being off the ebay paypal topic but I was just wondering if usps will track my item when it is in Australia??? Thanks

Once an item is international with tracking, you need to go to the international country site to check - so in your case, whoever the australia standard postal service is will provide CURRENT details on your package =)

USPS info will be very outdated.
