To be honest I don't think they check it against anything.
With DL I'm pretty sure they will only write down your DL number in case you try to mod your DL and try to use that number again.
They are pretty useless when it comes to being able to verify details.
Except for passport numbers I've got a feeling that can verify your details with that.
