Has anyone used a company account on eBay? Do you have any idea if eBay would do an ASIC search to confirm company director/owner?

i tried this and it got suspended. i believe it was from an asic search as I was very careful. it lasted for about 6 months till they suspended it but you have to pay $500 to get a company account etc.

Interesting. I have a friend as director/non beneficiary owner for now. Will see how it pans out. I assume you had your own name as director/owner?

If eb ay is anything like me, they'd check it.

I check abn numbers just for fun, some don't exist, stupid.

I came across one the other day, which I think is borrowed, naughty!

I think I'll watch it and see how long it lasts.....

I'm assuming it is as ASIC (Australian Securities & Investments Commission).

You can easily search for companies or ABNs.

If it's public access AND it's free, you can bet some low level employee at eb ay reported it to his superiors for usage ...and for heightening his image.

Could have been a disgruntled customer, or even a competitor.

I think some sellers over do it with the attitude of "trusted seller as I'm a business with an ABN number".
I had been watching sellers of a particular VERO item come and go, when I noticed the new approach of the "business" seller with an ABN number.
So I ran a check and it wasn't real.

I only watched these as I thought about doing it myself.
Seemed like too much of a hassle for me, plus it draws too much attention.
