Problem With Phone Call ID Verification
 

I have an account and I'm trying to list my first item for sale. So Ebay wants me to verify my ID by calling me on the number I provided when registering. I select the 'Call me in 2 minutes' option. What does it mean if the call never comes? I tried twice and still my phone won't ring. I've tested my phone number and it's working fine. It's a landline as well so Ebay sohuldn't have a problem with it. Does this kind of thing happen to everyone?

Ok, first of all, you shouldn't be using your real number if it is a stealth account, you should have used a call forwarding service or skype. I recommend skype because its the fastest. As for not receiving the call, are you sure the number is correct and not mistyped, did you include the area code? If it is correct then maybe its a fault on they're part, you should try again tonight or tomorrow. If still nothing, just try using a different number, sign up with skype or use a friends number, it should work then.

exactly the same situation with me. I've tried yesterday and today, with 2 different landlines number, but it always said couldn't verify. will try again tomorrow then, not sure whether the fault from my landline or from their part.

what providers are you using for your landline number? are you using skype?

I used fly number actually. it's 3.66 per month. it works well all the time, but don't know why it isn't work this time. :(.

I got the same problem yesterday...but for a UK account.

I use soho66 VoIP and their numbers have worked fine in the past. Yesterday when I was trying to get e bay to call me the call never came through.

I tried something like ten times, even left it for a couple of hours and tried again but it was all to no avail.

Tis very annoying - I will persevere though. maybe it's just a glitch, maybe they are getting a lot of new verification requests... who knows (probably not even them)!!

I'm just wondering if they'll only let you use a number for one Ebay account now. The number I'm using is already registered in a linked account.

i also tried UWT services before but that was too much of a hassle and they kept trying to call me to verify details

i dont find the website very helpful how do i find out my number? have no idea what to activate or anything, theres no links even googling it doesnt help me :(

Sadly I tried again and it still isn't working for me. I find it rather ironic that the number I'm using is a genuine landline whereas using a rented number and you get no problems at all.
