Default Restriction instead of suspension for having a suspended associated account

Ive had my account restricted from selling because of having an "associated" account that is suspended.

Is this permanent or will that restriction turn into a suspension once enough time passes without the associated account being reinstated?

I thought that associated accounts were supposed to be suspended too, not just restricted

Your account was restricted because we determined that it was associated
with the following suspended/restricted account:

<account>

Please understand that you are currently restricted from using eBay.
Your restriction will continue until the issues related to the account
above have been resolved. Under the eBay User Agreement, you may not use
eBay if there are unresolved issues with your account.

So it says I can't use eBay but the account still has buying privileges. I think. I haven't bid on anything since it happened.

Good as dead. But they are prolonging your pain.

Time to start again.

BUT: look at your plan & see why/what is happening. Take steps to avoid that again.

Welcome to the forums. This is a classic eb ay message trying to keep your hopes up with a message that does not seem to be ending.

The account is in bad shape. Let it go - go new fresh and stealth.

How can you be so sure? I don't care about the selling restriction. I just want to keep buying.

The "associated account" is suspended indefinitely, so I know that one's gone. I don't understand why they haven't already suspended the rest of my accounts yet. All the information isn't the same but there should be more than enough for them to connect them all.

Maybe you still owe fees and they are trying to make sure they collect. This has been my experience.

Maybe $10 or something. I have CC and autopayments set up and my invoice just hasn't come around yet.

But they could still suspend me and take it from my CC.

Oh, and also, they sent me an email saying they'd make an exception to their usual rule and remove the selling restriction if I provided certain documents (proof of identity, supplier info. etc).

I am a casual seller and don't have suppliers, etc.

Meanwhile I've got other accounts that they definitely know about that haven't received anything and are still fully active.

So - provide the documentation they want.

I will since I have nothing to lose. The thing is that I don't need that account, I just need my other, as yet untouched accounts.

I'm just wondering what they're thinking and whether all my accounts will eventually be suspended indefinitely once their autobots make the connection (since me telling them hasn't done anything) or whether they have already decided not to do that.

I think I'll have to ring them and ask about the supplier information. They wouldn't require that for a person who only sells their own secondhand goods, would they?

They have asked for supplier info on all kind of weird things.
