Fly Number not working anymore?
 

I'm getting errors when I use my new fly numbers when i try to do the eBay phone verification for a new seller account the error message is "We were not able to verify the phone number you provided. Please try again."

The phone number that you got is either used (which is possible but not too likely) or the area code is not permitted to use for your eBay site for verification.

so it normal to get couple of use virtual number that were use for eBay

so out of my 10 fly numbers only half them were working

I got that error on one of mine recently as well....
My first error out of like 6

I have literally used over a hundred Canadian numbers and none has came up with it. Maybe their database lacks unique Au numbers. Try contacting them about it

I have been having da same problem for over a week! I have been asking to have my no's changed. Some no's work and some don't, now my accounts are getting suspended, my 3rd account this week! I'm guessing it's either the virtual no's or cc! So frustrating after all that time and effort I put in to open these accounts!!

@BiN, so if you're exhausting the Canadian numbers with flynumber - prob best for me to avoid it for my CDN account creation?...

The chance of you getting a used number is unlikely, as I always select a random area code out of their large collections of Canadian area codes

Had exactly the same problem with 3 different numbers last week....

I have had the same problem, could be that some of the numbers they are using are just too new? Have a look at 02 Area code operators - and see if your fly number matches the numbers here. The message I got was ebay could not verify the number so maybe it is just not in the 'system'. This wikpedia entry en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Australia may also throw some light on the problem.

Anyone figured out the problem yet? just payed $3.95 four times for 1 melbourne number and 3 geelong numbers and none of them worked. All i got from ebay was " We were unable to verify this phone number" in red text.

It's just like natural resources, when there are too many people overexploit something, it depletes. Same goes with AU phone numbers on flynumber, there weren't much to begin with in the first place.

Got this last night and the same this morning, using Sonetel. When I click No thanks, verify my identity another way it just takes me back to the payment options and no matter what option I click it takes me back to the phone verify page. Whenever I put in the number, and click call me, the browser just reloads with the same error message as though it didn't even attempt to call? Glitch maybe? The number is definitely correct And I'm on the .au site and put in the correct boxes (xx)xxx xxx xx

I wonder if eBay is starting to use the same technology that quicksales and other sites here are using, they can pick up your using a VOIP number and tell you in so many words. They want you to use a 'real number' mobile or landline.

I contacted Sonetel and they said it wont work so got a skype number now.

Any one else had problems recently with eBay when you receive the verification call to start a selling account eBay does not seem to pick up the tone for the reply?
