If they do, then a message comes up saying that the seller has blocked them from being able to bid on the item (or buy it, if that is the case) and that they should contact the seller for any further information and that it is not eBay's decision.
I always block buyers who leave negative feedback UNLESS it is deserved. If I screwed up an order and the buyer leaves a negative, so be it - I won't block that person. If I am not sure if it was my fault or not (i.e. buyer claims damaged and I know the item left in good shape, but may have been damaged in transit) then I look to see if they leave a lot of negatives for sellers - if they do, I block them, if not I give them the benefit of the doubt.
It is one of my fantasies that a service will pop up allowing sellers to share information on "bad buyers" so that they can be blocked before they do damage. Unfortunately, I see no way for such a service to NOT be abused - some sellers DO deserve negative feedback. But when I have received an undeserved negative, I usually look up the feedback the buyer left for others. Nine times out of ten, the buyer has left bad feedback for MANY sellers, not just me. It is unbelievable that some buyers seem to have problems with 25%+ of the sellers they deal with.
If YOU bought 10 things from 10 different eBay sellers and had problems with 4 of those orders, WHY would you continue to buy on eBay? |
