Q about Feedback %'s & DSRs

I understand NEG FEEDBACK = decreases your feedback rating percentage to below 100%.

If a buyer/s gives you POSITIVE FEEDBACK but low DSRs will you still have 100% positive feedback or will the % drop to to below 100%? Or are there other variables in the equation?

Dmshark25 08-01-2013 05:18 AM

The 100% is based on positive and negative feedback , DSRs are not involved.

But watch your DSRs because it doesn't matter what ur percentage is you could still get low DSRs which could be more Important than whether it says 100% or not.

Don't forget neutral feedback that won't lower your 100% but people could still be upset and hurt u with low DSRs

If you get over 3 and your percentages are under standard for your account than u could be limited from selling , so keep an eye out

I normally wouldn't even know about this as it seemed a bit odd:

I was actually looking at another seller's rating it went from 98% due to 1 x NEG. After this 1 x NEG they had all POSITIVE FEEDBACK and NO neutrals, but their rating dropped from 98% to 97.9%.

I can't figure out why this is?

DSR ratings and feedback are separate. You could theoretically have 100% feedback and low DSRs if the customers are not happy with delays. Low DSRs (like negative feedback) can lead to restrictions and suspensions...

DSRs do not replace our current feedback system.

Right now they are complicating selling life for some OZ sellers.

I'll give you some info later, LilyPily

Yea DSRs are another hurdle, not only can we get a neg or neutral but we can also get a positive with low DSRs which to me is a negative, it's just another thing to make life harder for us sellers, ebay wants everyone to be perfect , in a world of crazy buyers and scammers but its always the sellers fault

Read what the expectations are. Yet see how buyers may not understand everything.

See how freaky it is for the buyer?

You have to nurse them to make sure they do not accidently 'damage' your account.

Dont forget free shipping gives you 5 stars.... a small gift.

If you were really obsessive/compulsive, there is a trick to figure out who gave you the low dsr rating....

Ebay's DSR system gets recalculated around the 20th or 21st of each month (the same time they evaluate you for powerseller and TRS status).

DSR's are supposed to be anonymous (heh like my name!). So if a buyer leaves you positive feedback but dings you with 1's and 2's in the categories, you are not supposed to know which buyer rated you poorly.

But there is a trick to figuring out who did it! You just need to utilize ebay's own reporting mechanism and the process of elimination.

1. Click on Seller Dashboard.
2. click the 'create a report' button
3. choose 'item numbers'
4. wait about 10 minutes and the report will be available.

I haven't done this in awhile, but if I recall, you can compare up to 10 item numbers at a time. For the purpose of this example, I will stick w/ 10 item numbers.

Of those 10 item numbers, it will show you the individual ratings you received - how many 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's and 5's. You won't know which item numbers gave you the 1's or 2's, but you can tell if any of those 10 buyers gave you a 1 or 2.

If they didn't notice anyone give you a 1 or 2 rating, then just repeat the process with a new sample batch of 10 until you find the 1 item number. When you do, you just need to use process of elimination methods to isolate it.

Bear in mind this is can be a both tedious and time consuming process because ebay takes about 10 minutes or so before a new report is generated. And yes, I was bored one day but was a little pissed my 5.00 rating dropped to like 4.85 suddenly :-)

Oh and you might wonder why even bother to do this? Well, I ended up putting that buyer on my exemption list for any future transactions. I just don't want to deal w/ a repeat transaction and another low dsr rating.

Some buyers, you simply can never please.

The Positive Feedback percentage is calculated based on the number of positive, negative and neutral ratings (including weekly Repeat Feedback) received in the last 12 months as follows:

Positives / (Positives + Neutrals + Negatives)
