Pre-paid mobile broadband USB drives?

I know they sell phone SIM cards at these self serve places like Big W and Woolies but do they also sell mobile broadband sticks on the shelves too?

If not, is it at all possible to buy them at any other places without having to provide ID?

You can buy an unlocked mobile broadband modem online. Those SIM Cards at Big W and Woolies need to be upgraded to the 3Gb monthly prepaid data plan. Honestly, Aussie sucks with it comes to internet connection.

Thank you, yes i have seen all the ones online that might end up being a feasible option.

Not after anything too expensive though just a connection to use in cohesion with my new stealth PP and ebay account for the first 3 months.

I read the stealth guide part and link on changing IP addresses on home modems and was able to do it successfully but i would rather educate myself a little bit more on the issue of changing IP addresses before i am confident enough to use stealth accounts on my home connection.

Consider going to some of the mobile phone shops in the different shopping centres.

They can be *coughs* helpful.

Make sure your home connection has a dynamic IP rather than static.

Yes i double checked the modem configuration page and rang my ISP and it is definitely a dynamic IP address.

From a bit of research i have done so far it looks as though a lot of those mobile broadband usbs operate under static IP addresses and apparently the companies are very reluctant to change to a dynamic IP when you call them and ask.

Just wondering if any of you local guys on here know of any specific companies that sell mobile broadband sticks with dynamic IP addresses. Would virgin be a good option? i read in one of the threads here they are good in the UK.

Look at using vodafone or optus before virgin

You have a static 3 USB Dongle? Something worth noting for anyone else that wants to get a dongle in the UK

To avoid or to use?

If they are static, really best avoided for most people.

Dynamic is much better to stealth.

rsot 08-10-2013 08:42 AM

Static dongle could be useful if just used for 1 account...dedicated...still the price would have to be cheap for it to be worth keeping.

GreenBean 08-10-2013 10:00 AM

Counterproductive cost wise in the UK.

Dial up would be cheaper.

Those modem/routers from your ISP cannot be spoofed easily. If you can bridge yours and use a linksys or dlink, you will be in business.

Telstra for instance, provide most customers with wireless modem/router combo. I have had a chance to access the interface, not helpful for the Stealth Course.

ed6587 08-11-2013 07:47 PM

Thank you all for the helpful tips i think i will stick with my home broadband(custom modem) and keep track of the different IP addresses i get just to make sure they all differ. All the other steps concerning cookies, different log in usernames and personal details seem very straight forward.

Looked into bridging routers and modems, although it is a smart thing to do i don't think it is necessary in this case seeing i am already using my custom Belkin one rather than the stock standard ThomsonGW issued Telstra ones.

@ed6587

To help with logging your IPs, I recommend both of these files created by helpful users here.

AND

Great advantage of both is all your info is at hand. Have a back-up copy too. Then you have all your info to operate stealth
