Using TradeME in Australia
 

Was going to put this thread in the Off topic section but thought it was mainly targeted at Aus/Nz users so it might be more helpful here.

I have recently been using Trademe.co.nz from Australia and although it is not as productive as Ebay it is still fairly efficient and a very worthwhile selling outlet to have alongside Ebay.

The problem with the site is that it demands a New Zealand bank account or PAYNOW(which is like Paypal and also requires a NZ bank account to register).

I have been able to make quite a few sales on the site due to a lot of customers being able to pay via Paypal or make overseas account transfers.
There are the few odd ones lately that are demanding i give them a NZ account or PAYNOW account to send the money to. Probably only a matter of time before the site bans me from selling for this reason.

Does anyone here use TradeMe from Australia?if so how do you handle the payment issues?

I used to be live in NZ for 7 years.I knew trademe and kiwi people well.

If you don't get a NZ bank account,they will ban you for sure.Just after couple of reports or negative feedbacks you will be suspended.

I advice would be if you think trademe worth a do,search some cheap tickets and fly to auckland airport.Between NZ/AUS are visa free.Just get there.There are banks out of the airport,bnz,anz,national etc..use your passport and open one,remember to open internet bank with international transfer future actived so you can use it back home...

Kiwi people don't like ebay and paypal,trademe rule the market,so good luck.

Easier, and cheaper option is to select open a New Zealand bank account.

No need to fly anywhere.
