| | | llcc221 | 12-23-2013 01:57 AM | Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? Im new here, so forgive me if these are really newbie questions, Is it possible to use this vpn service for mulitple accounts with ebay and paypal?
And is it a different ip everytime when you log in? or one allocated ip address?
im looking for something that will hide my ip, for multiple accounts. I have tried the manual way in trying to change it, and even though i should have a dynamic ip, it's more like static.
your help will very much appreciated.
thankyou |
| GreenBean | 12-23-2013 06:32 AM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? If Hell froze over, that would be the last way I would access the internet for ebay/paypal.
Your choice is blacklisted with both ebay & paypal. Avoid at all costs.
Your IP is static. That's what your ISP supplies.
You can buy a sims card with data from another company and use that to work fine.

1 static ip per user desktop .
What am i missing ? |
| JamesNorth101 | 12-23-2013 01:57 PM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? Look into VPS, dongles, MAC address changing or phone tethering.
Avoid VPN and services that 'hide' your IP address (like TOR) |

What am i missing ? | You are missing the fact that this VPN is blacklisted by ebay/paypal.
Replies were addressing that.
Rarely any need for a user within the same country to use VPN.

Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? As Greenie highlighted , HMA is the worst, AVOID |
Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? OP, read about dongle and cellphone tethering - even dedicated VPS idea but...please avoid HMA |
| DotDot | 12-24-2013 10:38 PM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? I would avoid using HMA for ebay. lol
Just say......... I was probably one of the people who has gotten it blacklisted. :p :p
Used to use HMA vpn in 2009-2010. Back then IPs were fresh. In 2010 they finally added an AU server and the very same week as them adding the Australian server i abused the hell out of their IPs by using it all on ebay in 2010! lol
I know they frequently add new ips every now and then but i can give you inside information that most of them are probably blacklisted and i am probably partly responsible. LOL
:p sorry. |

Ready?
-Buy a Internet dongle USB (telstra/Optus etc) from ebay
-register and go about your business as you would normally on ebay/paypal
-each time you sign in from 1 to another you take USB out connect/reconnect to create new IP
I read up on this other stuff that is just people making $ off something you can do yourself.
Come on aussie come on! We meant to be the lucky little old island |

| oldduck | 12-25-2013 10:37 AM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? 100% new one each time. Disconnect for 5-15 seconds and you are guaranteed a new IP. As long as same dongle is used for all accounts you have no problems. The minute you use a Vodafone dongle then flags are triggered. |

Expand on this wild claim.

| oldduck | 12-26-2013 11:59 PM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? Ok.....Use a telstra dongle for X accounts in rotation, then plug in a Vodafone dongle and you will see what happens to X accounts. Like dominoes.
Use X with Telstra
Use X with Vodafone
Simple. Expanded?
Only speaking from my understanding as I was using Paypal/eBay while on holidays once upon a time and didn't have the laptop with me. Used my Android phone which is Vodafone and then limits message comes up. Actually first was the provide secret answers, then phone.
Think of you have been going to buy ice cream from McDonalds for a long time driving the same car and then you drive a different car through the drivethrough. |
| GreenBean | 12-27-2013 03:06 AM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? One user's report.
Not a given across the OZ board that I have heard.
Am aware of over 30 OZ users happily doing ebay & vodafone.
Did you use stealth with vodafone or were not aware of possible issues?

| Toolman89 | 12-27-2013 03:26 AM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? I think he only means using one service provider and then suddenly using another on the same account, not that there's anything wrong with vodafone in particular. Was just a terrible way to word it.
And I've experienced what happens if you suddenly use a new service provider, comes up with an error saying looks like you're on a new computer or something and you simply do the secret answer and the code is emailed to you and then you're all good to go?? |
| oldduck | 12-27-2013 04:45 AM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? Nothing wrong with vodafone, that's not being said.
What is meant to be said is that if you switch dongles under same account raises measures.
Vodafone is great, i support them as other aussie providers.
You can run X accounts with Voda and X accounts with Telstra, mix them up and you'll see problems. Similar to that of Hotmail email address. Login into your email address from a friends computer or a hotspot at your favorite restaurant and the ring-a-rosy you play with phone/pin verification takes place.
If you thought I meant Vodafone & eBay dongle don't work....that would put me in a spot where im the character from Cast Away starring Tom Hanks. Only im not Tom Hanks, remember the ball?
Hope this clears up the vodabay question :deadhorse: |
| GreenBean | 12-27-2013 04:59 AM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? odlduck,
You appear to not 'have it' regarding stealth.
All the methods you describe are ones that make issues with ebay.
Forum outlines methods that save these issues.

| easy.bake.oven | 12-28-2013 03:25 AM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? Maybe voda don't work for you because you are not logging your ip addresses and you may be using same ip on different accounts which is why they are getting closed down. |

Need to do a bit more research |

Please read much more about IPs and the importance of logging them to stay in successful stealth mode.
Preferable to also avoid announcing your ebay account names to the world.
The names are nobody's business but yours. We prefer users to maintain their privacy.

| jeffweico | 01-04-2014 03:37 AM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? Seriously, though, VPN's and VPS's are not a good idea UNLESS the person using them REALLY knows how they function and how to use them. If not done correctly, using a VPN could be easily detected. Same thing with a VPS. If you happen to have that knowledge, then go for it.
Most of the successful users on this forum have developed our own unique ways of maintaining our stealth accounts. When we give advice, it is to adhere STRICTLY to the stealth rules to be successful and avoid being linked.
When users - especially newer users - start cutting corners and not following the rules they may have a couple of months before they are linked. When the linking does not happen within 24 hours, they think they are a genius, or have magical powers.
A couple of months later, we see posts like "HELP! AMAZON JUST TOOK DOWN ALL 10 OF MY ACCOUNTS!!!" When we start asking questions about how the account was being run, there is almost always a corner that was cut, a rule that was not followed. Some people think that the IP addresses do not matter, or that they can use an address that does not exist, or that having all of their email forwarded to ONE account to make it easier for them will be just fine. Others don't see how PayPal will know they are using the same credit card number on their new account since they deleted it from their old account. All of these are disasters waiting to happen.
My point is, don't get too cocky or too comfortable. ALWAYS be open to learning new things. Always avoid ANY possibility of linking, even if you have to spend an extra $15 per month to do it. Is it worth losing an account to be cheap? Or getting linked because you didn't want to bother with changing the IP address? |
| Toolman89 | 01-04-2014 01:16 PM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? Wait, you can't have all your email forwarded to one account? Why not? Cause that's what I've been doing lol |

Wait, you can't have all your email forwarded to one account? Why not? Cause that's what I've been doing lol | When an email is sent, only the text part is actually sent to your email address. Any images are retrieved from the server of the person or company who sent the email (let's call it eBay).
When that happens, the IP address of whatever device you are viewing the email on will be sent to the sender (eBay).
eBay (and other companies) very often use a little trick to match the device IP address with their records. It also lets them know if their email has been opened and some other things.
One of the image files in the email you received will have a unique name attached to it (like df457adsjhh436574lkd.jpg) that was ONLY sent to your email address. When that image is accessed, eBay will record the IP address of the device making the request.
If you are viewing email from 10 different eBay accounts on one device, and the images are NOT turned off, then eBay will see the same IP address is associated with all 10 accounts. That WILL link the accounts.
If the images are turned off by default and you do not access them, then there is no link unless, of course, you reply to the emails from the device.
Here is the thing that people too often miss about linking. They think that if their account is not immediately suspended, then there is no problem, that no link was created. But that is not usually the case.
Many users have accounts linked every day. It could be as simple as two people sharing the same internet connection in a household accessing their individual accounts. Or, it could be the 35 people who used the McDonald's WiFi connection that day. If eBay were to suspend accounts for this, they wouldn't have any customers left. So, the information is simply on file, but they don't routinely use it for very much.
However, let's say those 10 accounts are linked in the manner described above and one of your accounts is suspended for whatever reason. eBay will now start looking for any other accounts sharing the same information. Names, addresses, bank accounts, credit cards, IP addresses, etc. Then the accounts are reviewed. If they believe that those 10 accounts belong to the same person whose account has been suspended, then they ALL get suspended. It is not automatic - if the employee reviewing the accounts believes that the IP address is a public address, like a free Wi-Fi connection, then they may not link the accounts.
Also, an account is usually not linked based on the IP address alone. But if those 10 accounts are all in the same geographic area AND they have all been accessed by one IP address AND they all sell clothing AND (whatever other similarities exist) then eBay makes a decision as to whether or not they believe the same person is behind all of the accounts. That is when you experience great pain.
The best thing to do is to eliminate all possibilities of linking and to make the accounts look as normal as possible. |
| Toolman89 | 01-04-2014 09:53 PM | Re: Anyone purchases a vpn from hidemyass using with eBay and paypal? Okay, yeah that's what I thought. Images are disabled and I never reply to any of the emails. Having them all forwarded to the one address does make it a hundred times easier for me and there's no way I'd slip up in that regard. |
