Idiot housemate got himself suspended

So my housemate decides to make a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ebay account, lists an item and within half an hour was banned and received MC113 and MC999 emails.

We are on different PCs but same IP address. I got him to call ebay to try get unbanned and they told him to send ID (which he obviously can't as it's a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name)

My ebay a/c is real and I've had it since 2004. I have 100% positive feedback and 100/$5000 limit.

I've listed a few items today and no suspension as yet, what is the likelihood I will be linked and suspended? I'll be really annoyed if i lose my account...

If IP is all that links you, then you're fine.

You said all of his information was made up. So, unless he was selling the exact same items as you, nothing matches but an IP address.

Don't panic. People share IPs with banned users all the time. It takes a lot more links than that.

He was trying to sell the same items as me :( he also knew my PayPal details and linked his account to it. I know, stupid of me to allow him to have those details grrr

House appears to have two idiots.

Housemate was totally out of order to make an account.

You must take some blame for not keeping your info secure.

You may have problems now.

Make sure he is TOTALLY excluded from any sort of access to any of your business.

Would it help if I call them before my account is banned and try and explain the situation? Ask them to close down the banned account?

No. All you would be doing is calling attention to the situation and forcing a manual review.
