Re-use IP and reduce internet bill

1) I'm using like 20GB per month and they charge me 100$ per 8GB, it's the most expensive internet I ever used. In comparison, Europe is around 15-30$ for the same amount.

Is there any other service that provides dynamic IP's for a better rate except Telstra and Vodafone? I was told that Optus, Virgin and the others are using only static ips, did you try them?

2) Is it ok to re-use an IP from one year ago?

:help:

Re: Re-use IP and reduce internet bill

I use Telstra mobile and every time I turn my phone off and back on my IP changes. Also remember people log into ebay/paypal from many different devices and thus IP's. eg work computer, home computer, phone, IPad etc so many ebay customers will show several different IP's when accessing their accounts.

Dont ever use proxies, they are easy to spot and ebay/paypal will kill your account in a flash.

Can anyone please share how much they pay per GB?
I think 8gb for 100$ is way too much, there must be something cheaper.
Only Telstra and Vodafone have dynamic ip's?

I don't think Australia (or Canada for that matter) are known for best plans...

Thanks, I will start calling them one by one. Out of all that list, approximately how many of them have dynamic ips?

Ouch!, in my European country I pay the equivalent of $10 AUD for 25 GB data, 500 mins and unlimited texts

Why not have two computers.

Device 1 = Use a broadband service but never log into ebay/paypal or click on an email that will bring up ebay/paypal or ip linked in anyway. But do the majority of your work on this device.

Device 2 = Use a dongle or what ever you want to call it from voda optus etc and you pay about $30/pm. Only use thise device/dongle to log in ebay paypal withdraw.

You can use Auctiva to do your listings leave feedback etc on Device 1

You actually don't even need two computers. One computer with two network cards can do the same. Have one network card configured to be used by your host OS for everyday uses, and dedicate the 2nd network card (with a separate connection) to be used by Vmware workstation only

Re: Re-use IP and reduce internet bill

Thanks I already found a better deal. 11$ for 5gb. I'm using couple of laptops because I got people taking care of the customer service.
The problem was in the employees that told me they got only statis ip service. It happened in every company except Telstra. Will never trust any employees again.

Better to get Broadband instead of using 4G mobile service. It's cheaper.

The cheapest broadband that offers dynamic IP is.
https://ausbbs.com.au/residential/adsl2/ Unlimited from $49 with Dynamic IP.
Heard good things about ausbbs.

Alternatively if you are looking for 4G Mobile Service.

Try vividwireless. Unlimited data for $80 per month which is a bargain for 4G. You can also buy pre-paid vouchers which cost $5 for 24 hours of Unlimited 4G use.
4G and Wireless Broadband | vividwireless
Not sure if you still can sign up. Optus bought the company out a year or so ago and they had plans to close vividwireless and port customers to Optus but so far. No word on when and if it's happening.
