how come new sellers get listing boost
 

How come a new seller with a personal or a business account jump the queue and get a great listing pitch when goods till cancelled just loses it when the new guy comes out ?
why this unfairness is there a secret to it or something..

eBay wants to encourage new seller. They do this by giving them a boost in listings

There are also other tricks that can be used to bump up your own listing without being a new seller. Trial and error is always the best way to find out what works for the items your selling

This is why it really pays off to always keep some new selling accounts in the mix!

If they relist then it has to do with conversation rates... I often relist items after being out of stock few weeks and get instant first place in best match because my previous listing conversion rate was high. It may look like a new listing, but often its not.

Still no doubt new sellers get a boost, I've proven it to myself time after time.

I can list 50pcs of an item on an account with less than 10 feedback, then list the same amount of the same item on an old account with 5000+ feedback. The newer account sells out first almost every time.

If only we can pay eBay more to prioritize our listings... that would be the day...

Hahaha.. you're joking right?

I don't think they're site-wide yet but using "promoted listings" can really help listings gain traction. I experimented with them some but it seems like they're only effective in certain niches.
