Unable to own Bank Account - Under 18
 

I really need alternatives. So far my orders get cancelled when I try to purchase visa gift cards. Anything else I can do being under 18?

Are you hiding from your family what you're doing? You can easily open up a bank account at nearly any bank.

They already had to get me a new card last year and the process was a pain to them. There’s no way they’re going to open up 3+ bank accounts for me when there’s the possibility id need new ones.

If you have online access to your bank, perhaps worth creating subaccounts online - if you can

The age rules are, I think, federal in nature, nothing you can do about them unless you are a court ordered emancipated minor or over 18.

Same thing for virtual accounts.

I'm not clear why you can't walk into a grocery store and buy visa gift cards if you want, there's no ago limit on that. What good that will do I don't know.

I think the sub-account idea is a good one, though, it may be blocked by law as well, but check it out.

If he had to have an adult help open it, he probably can’t open a sub account without the parental consent for that as well.

Agreed. I’d imagine they’d make the parents enter their info or sign something.

Log in online and tried to make a new chequing or savings account for yourself?
