Go to IRS website. An EIN if free and you can get one every day. But, it's not enough for PayPal. They now ask for a laundry list of docs when upgrading to business account;
LLC formation letter / articles of incorporation
Utility bill from place of business
Letter of good standing by your state (available after 1 year of paying your quarterly taxes)
They go to public records to make sure LKC or corporation is active.
The process to please PayPal takes forever and a day now, so if you're trying to add ein just to bypass ss number for tax purposes, plan way way way ahead of your sales. |
