US Bank online with SSN for non-US citizens. Is it possible?
 

Hey there. I'm not a US citizen but it turned out that I lived in the USA for a while. And I have SSN created for my real name. I also had a PNC bank account successfully opened in their local office with this SSN but it was long time ago and I don't have it's details anymore.

So I have real SSN but don't have US adress. Please advise ... wether I can open any US online bank account or something like that using my real SSN but not having US adress.

you can try and enter any US address as long as you dont plan to use it.
any freight forwarder in US can give you their US address,do you buy a lot from the States?

One problem I see is -if you open a US paypal account with SSN ,if you reach 200 transactions and $20k in goods and services payments,Paypal will issue 1099K and report to IRS,you are in RU and would ignore it,but if IRS deems you owe US income tax,it could seize $$ in your Paypal account .
THERE could also be state income tax and sales tax to consider.

WHY DO you want to open a US paypal account,why not RU?

I thought about random US adress, but as I understand right, online bank will send card to that adress... not to me. May be there is a bank which can send card to different country adress?

I already have new US paypal. I expected to withdraw by buying bitcoins in case of emergency but there is no SSN added. It seems that I won't be able even to buy bitcoins cause people from here say that you can't send money to somebody if you don't add SSN on Paypal. Thats why I thought about using my SSN for online bank account, not for PayPal.

My real RU paypal is already limited because of Ebay MC011. To create a new one you need real docs like ID and tax ID and so on. So only stealth can save me.

It’s 2020 and there are ways of getting personal bank accounts in the US remotely. First of there are basic things that all banks require, An ID ( passport) SSN / ITIN ( you can get your ITIN online, there are several agencies that take care of it for you), a valid US address ( which can also be handled by mail forwarding agencies in the us ) then a us Number which can also be paygo ultra mobile sim or similar services). With all these you’re still not in the clear , now you need an agency/individual to assist you open the account and they usually charge with 2000-3000$ varies. Remember pay only when your account is opened and you’ve been able to deposit into and it bears your details.

There are also free ways and I’m sure some of you already know of it. Like Payoneer, TransferWise. There are new ones coming up like Passbook by Remitly and others.
