What happens to the money when mismatched name gets rejected from bank?
 

Ok so today scotiabank rejected my withdrawal due to mismatched name and they said they sent it back to Paypal. Pretty stupid on their part since I had been using the same account and bank for years. Anyway, my question is how long does it take to go back to paypal?

A business day or two. Once it's returned to Paypal, Paypal removes your bank account.

24 hours. Keep in mind that PP WILL remove that bank account and I recommend you prep a new bank ACC elsewhere to add it back to PP

Usually a day will do. But it depends can take 2-3 business days depending on the situation and the bank.

happened to me past year with a locked PP with avaiable funds over. tried to withdraw in a famous Italian Prepaid Card IBAN, and i got refused.

Paypal removed the bank account, and i got the famous error " we are sorry..." for a WHOLE YEAR, when i tried to add bank account. Can't phone to customer care, it was a foreigner registered paypal

it depends on bank - i had consult person who had to write a lot of letters to receive their money back. It tooked half year. But if everything is ok, then it is 7-10 days

so end of mismatch names for canada banks? i thought scotia works?

This is like trying to deposit/cash a check made payable to someone else

1/2 working days

Bank will usually get removed - you can add it again if you want but may just have the same issue
