Using Phone number from U.S

Would it be fine if use a number from the U.S to make a Canadian paypal/eBay Stealth account? Would that raise any flags? Please let me know if anybody had success using a number from the U.S to create their Canadian accounts?

I just use the correct number for the country of the account created....US account = us number; Canadian account = canadian account.

I try to keep it simple.
