Will Expired Docs work to verify MP?
 

Was getting paid on MP for a few months then all of sudden got notice to upload photo ID

Problem is license and health card expired and havent been updated, put it off cause of covid and not wanting to go in. Will it pass for being a few months out of date? All other info is real on a real main account. It will be over a month to get new docs, dont wanna wait

Will "changing" the expiry date work? Too risky ? Or are they verifying only by name address and DOB?

what was the exact text of the message? how much turnover approx. did you make on MP?

I dont remember what the original message was, but it said to update by such and such date" but I kept getting payouts,. Others have said they had this but ignored it, as payouts kept coming. Then all of a sudden the message changed to a specific date - which is very soon - and then payout stopped and said 'your payouts are on hold'. I dont know how much it was - probably a couple thousand over 2 months. (I am in Canada and this is my real Canadian account with real details)

Now I get this:

Upload a photo ID
We need to verify your identity with one of the following valid documents. The name and date of birth on the document must match the one on the eBay account.
The entire document must be clearly visible and uploaded in colour (not black and white). Tip: Use a dark background when taking photos to reduce distortion due to glare.

Accepted Documents
Current Driver's license
Passport
Government-issued ID

Should I just call or try to upload the expired docs...

This message would usually appear when your details could not be verified , the best way to go would be to correct any wrong information and upload a valid ID , if you don't have one then order it now otherwise you risk losing the account

an alternative would be if you order a new international passport using express service , that probably would get you one within 1-2 weeks

and when you click the red banner , is it correct that it first shows all your personal details that can be edited and in the bottom it is asking to upload an ID?

yes

originally it gave the choice between license and sin number and I chose license

uploaded that and it was accepted no problems, until recently

Photoshop expired date possible? I wouldn't submit expired docs ...

expired docs would not work.
driver licence,passport,govt issued ID must all be valid and up to date

This is what I'm wondering

Does MP (I cant imagine how) somehow have access to a database in Ontario or Canada or something, or are in some other creative way cross checking to see if your gov document actually matches up name address DOB etc?

Or ....is the "check" literally just some guy sitting around staring at the uploaded JPEGs to approve or not

...and maybe they also run it through some kind of photoshop detector software to weed out the obvious

cause my work is good enough to easily get past the last two scenarios

Expired docs generally don't work. They need a valid current one
